DearAnyone.com (“DearAnyone”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This DearAnyone Privacy Statement applies to data collection and usage on DearAnyone sites and services.

DearAnyone is a mature audience web site. This site is not recommended for those under 13 years of age. Supervision of any use of the site by minors is the responsibility of parents and guardians. Personal information of all users is collected, used and disclosed as described in this Privacy Statement.


COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

The DearAnyone Sites are intended to be used with as much anonymity and personal privacy as possible. However, the basic personal information that will be required of all individuals wishing to create an online poll are a home province or state (in the Canada or US), a home country, age, gender and email address. A personal name, address and telephone number are NOT required.

If you choose to sign up for any future paid subscription services, we will collect additional personal information, including your name, telephone number, credit card number and billing address, in order to create a DearAnyone billing account.

The DearAnyone Sites request that you create a username, which is the username that will allow you to log on to the DearAnyone Sites. This username will not appear in public areas of the DearAnyone Sites.

The DearAnyone Sites request that you create an anonymous Letter Identifier Name, which will be used to sign off your letter/posting. This name should include a descriptor phrase and a location (e.g. “Dazed & Confused in Minneapolis” or “Completely Without Hope in Toronto”). This Letter Identifier Name should not include identifiable characteristics of your real identity, although it should reflect your true location.

Please keep in mind that if you disclose personal information in any way in your letter/posting, this information may be collected and used by others. DearAnyone cautions you against providing personal information to strangers online, which they may use for illegal or harmful purposes. Although DearAnyone may strike out any personal information found in a letter/posting, or may refuse to include any letter/posting containing personal information from the DearAnyone Sites, DearAnyone and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers and employees are under no legal or equitable obligation or duty to do so. Any damage, loss or harm, pecuniary or otherwise, caused by the inclusion of personal information in public letters/postings is the sole responsibility of the author of the letter/posting, whether or not that person is the legal and rightful owner or possesor of such personal information.

DearAnyone may collect information about your visit, including the pages you view, the links you click and other actions taken within DearAnyone. We may also collect certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and language, access times and referring Web site addresses.


USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

DearAnyone collects and uses your personal information to operate DearAnyone and deliver the services you have requested. However, all information remains confidential. The only piece of information that will be available to the general public on the DearAnyone Sites is your anonymous Letter Identifier Name.

DearAnyone may use your e-mail address to inform you of other products or services available from Wonder Twin and its affiliates. DearAnyone may also send you administrative updates, such as site maintenance times, and may also send surveys regarding current services or potential new services that may be offered.

DearAnyone and Wonder Twin does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. DearAnyone may, from time to time, contact you via e-mail on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your personal information is not transferred to the third party.

We may occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as handling the processing and delivery of mailings, providing customer support, processing transactions, or performing statistical analysis of our services. We will only provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver the service. They are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information and are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

DearAnyone may access and/or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Wonder Twin or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Wonder Twin, including its DearAnyone family of Web sites; or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of DearAnyone services or members of the public.

Personal information collected on this site may be stored and processed in Canada, the United States, or any other country in which Wonder Twin or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.


CONTROL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
