Dear Anyone,

I met this guy a couple of months ago. He's my friend's cousin. We really hit it off the first night I met him, but I didn't really think it would go anywhere because he's quite a bit younger than me (seven years, he's 23, do the math). After a while, my friend kept telling me that "Joe" kept asking her about me and talked about me a lot. We met up again another night and hung out and had a lot of fun (always in a group, though). Over the past weeks, we've gone out a lot with friends and we always have fun. One night we were at a party and I was talking to a guy and Joe came over and told this guy to "get away from his girl". I was a little irritated because I'm not officially "his girl" or anything, but it was interesting to hear him say that.

Anyway, my problem with all this really is that I am having a hard time figuring out if he is really into me or just wasting time. From the beginning he's always seemed very interested, but I always have to call him, ask him to do stuff, whatever. He works on a farm, so he puts in long hours and is always tired, so sometimes it's hard to get him to do stuff (I can't blame him for being tired, though). Sometimes it seems like he doesn't even want to talk to me and sometimes he's all over me. I don't get it! I've dated a lot of guys since I was 15 and never once have had a problem trying to figure out where I stand with them. I have really grown to like this guy - really like him a lot. But now it seems really hopeless and I wonder if I should just give up or if I should keep after it.
