Dear Anyone,

The other night I had a dream come true! Almost. Some friends and I were partying late at a park. Eventually all had left except for me and one particular lady. It so happens that I'd been secretly crazy about this lady for all of the short year I've been in this town. We had never really talked before, except for a brief smile and hello in passing. Anyway, after talking for a brief, she admitted that she always kind of liked me too! Next thing you know, (it's about 2 am) we're in the restroom (it's clean!) about to make my dream come true when . . . damn, limpness. She was frustrated, and I was mortified! She kept asking me why and I had no answer. I could only try to say that I was overwhelmed by her sudden attentiveness. She's kinda like an "a-list" type among our peers. Known by all, supermodel looks, yet very hot-tempered--quite intimidating for someone like me: very shy, yet good-looking enough that I don't have to "settle" for mediocre looks (not to be rude). I assured her I wasn't gay and I didn't have a present steady girlfriend. I've almost always pleased my past girlfriends quite well. Only once before has this happened to me, about 20 years ago. (We're both 39.) My only guesses that I kept to myself were that I was too fatigued from too little rest between working all day, then partying all night. She also knows that I've already been good friends with her older sister, but we played a little without going all the way. I doubt sis even mentioned it to her. Anyway, we both agreed to keep this between ourselves. Most folks who know us would hardly picture us together anyway, simply based on our reputations. I've already seen her a couple of times since that night, and we smiled and said "hello" just like nothing happened (no pun intended) and she even had another guy's arms around her last night. That didn't bother me, but I wonder if the circumstances would come again, should I try again with her, or just turn the page.

Wanting another chance
